The first number #31 on the Buc's that I worked with - the other Buc was #32 - Michael Pittman. James Wilder is the all time leading rusher on The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the 1980's, he was one of the most notable running backs in the NFL. He should get some consideration for the NFL Hall of Fame. In 1982, he fell short just 16 yards of the NFL record (Wilder had 2229) for total yards rushing and receiving in one season. He sent an NFL record in the 1980's with 494 carries in one season. He WAS the offence of the 1980's Tampa Bay Buc's. In 1983, he also set another NFL record with 42 carries in one game!
I originally met James Wilder when he lived a few houses down from me in Lake Magdalene Manors in the early 1990's. This picture was taken outside my office when we were doing a deal. I want to say this is like 1998 or 1999.
